Porter Chevrolet proudly presents the 2010 Chevrolet Corvette C6R GT2 version. It was in the late 1990s that General Motors launched one of the world's best cars in the field of competitive racing - the Chevrolet Corvette. The Corvette competed within the class known as GT1 till this year in the ALMS series. Now the Corvette has been shifted to the GT2 class thereby ensuring that Corvette Racing re-evaluates its strategy while building the new version. The Corvette C6R GT2 version was the outcome of this need to enhance the performance capabilities of the Corvette even further.
Corvette Racing had to redesign the C6R keeping in mind the requirements of the GT2 class. They have continued with the V8 engine in the GT2 version of the Chevrolet Corvette. General Motors wants to promote environmentally conscious racing and hence the Chevrolet Corvette C6R GT2 car's engine power is very much resolute on fuel efficiency and burning cleaner fuels as speeds by. The latest Corvette C6R proves that performance is achievable without compromising on superior fuel efficiency and lower greenhouse gas emissions. Corvette Racing's inaugural run in the ALMS GT2 class was hailed as the green pioneer of GT2.
Corvette Racing's maiden run ended with their car finishing second. Just three races into the GT2 competition, Corvette Racing got their first race victory using the C6R GT2 model leaving behind a Ferrari F430 GT.
