A/C Service for your Chevrolet

A/C service can be preventative or routine maintenance, or it can involve repairs or full-out replacement of the parts/system. Sign you need Chevrolet A/C Service

You want an air conditioning system that remains working at all times, especially if you live somewhere with extreme weather conditions. If you notice any of the following issues, it's time to bring your Chevy in for A/C service:

• It's blowing hot air: If water gets into your A/C unit, it can combine with the refrigerant and create an acid that's highly corrosive and will eat away at your A/C system parts. The acid then affects the rubber seals and this can lead to a refrigerant leak that cuts back on the cooling power.
• You notice an odd smell: If there's a funky smell that comes from your A/C, this can mean water and even mold are present in the system. This can arise when you have a dirty or damp cabin air filter, or it may mean there's a blocked drain in the evaporator case.
• There's weak airflow: If you have excess moisture in the evaporator core, this can cause buildup of mold and other debris, which in turn blocks the airflow to the interior of your vehicle. This loss of pressure also might mean you have a restriction in the evaporator core or a failing blower motor.

When and How Often Should I Get My A/C Recharged?

You should get a full inspection of your A/C system at least once a year. Even if you don't experience any of the above or other types of issues with your air conditioning, it's important to maintain a regular maintenance schedule.
